Eligibility
Individuals may be eligible:
If they have a medical condition that requires treatment or rehabilitative services prescribed by a physician and;
- A physical and/or mental impairment that handicap activities of daily living, but not so serious as to require 24-hour institutional care and;
- A reasonable expectation that preventative services will maintain or improve the present level of functioning and;
- A high chance of further deterioration and probable institutionalization if DADS services were not available.

Make sure you ask your doctor to do a TB test to complete your application.
If you are a Medicaid recipient, contact the nearest local Social Security to apply for the Day Activity and Health Services program (DAHS).
What is Day Activity and Health Services program (DAHS)?
This acronym stands for “Day Activity and Health Services.” This program is administered by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services and provides funding for persons who may need financial help. A person is eligible for financial aid based on at least one of the following:
- A medical diagnosis and physician’s order requiring care or supervision by a licensed vocational nurse or a registered nurse.
- A related functional disability.
- One or more of the following personal care or restorative needs which can be stabilized, maintained, or improved by participation in DAHS:
- Bathing, dressing, and grooming. The applicant/client may need help with bathing, dressing, and routine hair and skincare.
- Transfer and ambulation. The applicant/ client may need help with transferring from a chair or commode or moving about.
- Toileting. The applicant/client may need help using a urinal or commode; emptying a catheter or ostomy bag, or managing incontinence of bowel or bladder.
- Feeding. The applicant/client may need feeding or help with eating.
- Fluid intake. The applicant/client may need assistance in maintaining adequate fluid intake.
Persons qualified by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services are eligible to attend Lido Senior Club absolutely free of cost to them.
Who pays for this?
Lido Senior Club’s services are available at no cost to Eligible Medicaid recipients and qualified members of SCAN Health Plan and Veterans Administration.
Long Term Care Insurance Plan – a number of long-term care insurance companies cover adult day services.
A Private Pay option is also available. If the funding sources above are not available, you may pay privately at rates that are less than a home health visit and almost half of the cost of a skilled nursing facility. For Private Pay clients without Medicaid insurance, you only need to complete the application along with the TB test.
The above-mentioned programs each have criteria requirements that must be met prior to funding being granted. The Director can help begin the process by making the referral.
